Coming This Fall…
In the early 1950s in rural West Texas, the unwed, pregnant teenage daughter of the town drunk is orphaned by a gruesome car wreck. A year or so later, an unexpected inheritance puts her in charge of her own fate, and Evelyn bootstraps her way into a fortune through her smarts, hard work and the “survival skills of a coyote.”
Running alongside her story is a present-day romance: two childhood friends bump into each other in the lobby of a Sundance Square bank building in Fort Worth. Ella is divorced and Henry never married, and as they begin to rekindle their friendship, she talks him into sharing her hobby of attending storage unit auctions.
When they buy a unit, the things they find — and the person they can’t find — draw them into a long-buried mystery. Her knowledge as a lawyer, and his skillset as a reporter, lead them to Evelyn, and to a secret she’d prefer to keep buried.
The working title of this sweeping first novel is Undiscovered, and it’s due out this fall from TCU Press. If you’d like to be among the first to receive a copy, visit http://www.tcupress.com and pre-order today!
